I bought Canon G9 because it’s not available at Walmart for sale, just kidding. I bought Canon G9 because it’s the most expensive Point and Shoot camera, kidding again. Seriously, I bought Canon G9 because this camera finally offered everything that I needed in a compact camera. I wanted SLR quality pictures but I hated the size and the heavy weight of actual SLR camera. Canon G9 delivered on this promise and pictures are amazing. Also, I wanted minimum 3” LCD screen which allows me better evaluate the pictures that I’m shooting. I don’t want to see over or under exposed pictures after they are downloaded to my computer which is too late. With 3” LCD I can continue shooting until I’m satisfied with the results. Finally, I wanted my compact camera to be fully automatic and fully manual as well. Having full manual option is useful when I decide to produce HDR (High Dynamic Range, see some sample HDR pics here) pictures. Canon G9 combined all this in one package and my wait finally paid off.
